Mechanic Assistant

CCI is looking for a Mechanic Apprentice


The Mechanic Apprentice will work under the direct supervision of an experienced mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and incidental mechanical repairs on various customer mechanical rotating equipment. This position will also perform a variety of facility maintenance tasks.

This position will be responsible for driving CCI's Mission, Vision, and Values, a crucial part of the strategic plan to drive success.

• Comply with all guidelines, policies and procedures established by CCI while on shift, on call or attending training.
• Maintain 100% "Safety Standards and Accountability" in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements.
• Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly.
• Participating in CCI safety meetings, work safely and maintain a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI.
• Willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
• Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and organized work area.
• Partner with coworkers to learn new skills and share knowledge.
• Help manage inventory of critical parts and supplies.
• Attend and participate in required meetings, training, and exercises.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Basic mechanical and maintenance understanding and experience.
• Ability to follow directions in detail.
• Ability to clearly speak, write, read, and understand the English language.
• Skilled in interpersonal communication with the ability to work closely in a small shop environment.
• Knowledge and practice of health and safety procedures

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A valid driver's license is required.
• One year work history with references
• Must own and know how to use basic mechanic tools.
• Must be able to maintain and clean equipment and workspace.
• Punctuality and availability for minimal 40 hr. work week

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with pumps, heaters, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and rotating equipment is preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and severe outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne

particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.

A pre-hire post offer physical will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard. • MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service.
• HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
• VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
• LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift to 60 pounds through out the work day
• RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
