High School English Teacher in the Middle East

Responsibilities Teaching English & Literature Deliver 20-25 English lessons per week, focusing on advanced reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Guide students in analyzing and interpreting literary works, including novels, poetry, plays, and essays. Teach critical thinking and analytical writing skills through discussions, essays, and research projects. Utilize creative and engaging teaching methods to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of literature. Design lesson plans that challenge and support students of varying skill levels. Classroom Management Establish a structured, respectful, and engaging learning environment that encourages intellectual curiosity. Set and enforce clear expectations to promote a positive and focused classroom atmosphere. Encourage open discussions and debates to enhance students’ communication and reasoning skills. Collaboration & Professional Development Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop cross-curricular connections and enhance instructional strategies. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide initiatives. Stay updated on best practices in teaching English and literature by attending workshops and training programs. Adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to meet the evolving needs of students. Monitoring Student Progress Assess student comprehension and analytical skills through exams, essays, presentations, and discussions. Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth in writing and literary analysis. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents regarding academic performance. Additional Responsibilities Supervise students during non-classroom activities, such as assemblies, lunch, or study hall, as needed. Support school events, extracurricular activities, and student initiatives. Perform other duties assigned by the administration to contribute to the overall success of the school.
