General Manager – Full Service Restaurant

Position Overview

The General Manager is responsible for leading all day‐to‐day operations of a full‐service restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and a positive, high‐performing team culture. This role oversees front‐ and back‐of‐house operations, staffing, training, scheduling, inventory, cost controls, and overall brand standards. The GM leads from the front, sets the tone for service, and drives consistent results.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations for FOH and BOH to ensure smooth, efficient service
• Hire, train, coach, and develop all team members and managers
• Create and manage schedules to balance labor needs and budget targets
• Monitor financial performance, including labor, food cost, COGS, and controllables
• Ensure exceptional guest service and resolve issues quickly and professionally
• Maintain brand standards for cleanliness, food quality, safety, and hospitality
• Oversee inventory management, ordering, receiving, and waste control
• Execute marketing initiatives, local store promotions, and community engagement
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and employment regulations
• Foster a positive culture built on accountability, teamwork, and communication
• Drive sales and profitability through operational excellence and leadership
• Represent the restaurant as the face of the business in the community

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full‐service restaurant management experience (GM experience required)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage high‐volume operations
• Solid understanding of P&L management, cost controls, and budgeting
• Experience with hiring, training, and developing teams
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay calm under pressure
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
• Hands‐on, people‐first leadership style
• Proficiency with scheduling, POS systems, and basic office software
