Job Title Registered Nurse II WIP D/N – Surgical Care Unit (2600011Q) Unit Overview Surgical Care Unit is a 31-bed surgical/trauma unit with cardio/respiratory monitoring capability for each bed. The unit delivers family‑centered nursing care for patients with surgical conditions, including orthopedic cases from infancy through adolescence. The unit focuses on patient groups such as Pediatric General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic trauma, Spinal fusion, and Bariatric Surgery. Pediatric General Surgery Ophthalmology Orthopedic trauma Spinal fusion Bariatric Surgery All nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, Children’s National policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. The Professional Model of Care requires registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice. Children’s National supports the development of RN relationships within the community, specifically those associated with the health and well‑being of the community at large. Qualifications Minimum Education – A.A.
