Associate Chemist - Fuels, Lubes and Oilfield Houston, TX, United States Job Description The Role: As the Associate Chemist, reporting to the Director - Application Lab, Fuels, Lubes, Oilfield & Coatings, you will be responsible for running application testing, performing typical characterization, and solving quality control product issues under the direction of a Lead Chemist. Additionally, you will support aspects of development of new products, procedures, and test methods with minimal daily supervision. How You Will Make an Impact R&D - New Product Development, Product Application Testing, Customer Support Works with a Chemist, Lead Chemist or direct manager to conduct research and develop new products or troubleshoot problems of existing products. Conduct flow assurance and fluid flow separation product application testing for in‑house and benchmark products and organize the data in a clear and concise manner for data analytics. Conduct fuels and lubricant application testing for in‑house and benchmark products and organize the data in a clear and concise manner for data analytics. Conduct routine analytical qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical testing. Evaluate materials for compliance to standards and specifications. Assist in the maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory equipment. Handle multiple assignments. Suggest alternative approaches within scope of experiments or projects/processes. Report results effectively in a timely fashion. Maintain legible, neat and organized laboratory notebooks. Assist as directed in all areas of the lab function. Adhere to company EH&S regulations, SI Group Responsible Care practices and ISO 9000 programs. Ensure all R&D operations are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures and compliant with laws and regulations.
