Law Clerk (District Temporary) Location: Los Angeles, CA. Job Overview We are seeking a part‑time or full‑time law clerk for the Legal Department at the Metropolitan Water District’s headquarters in downtown Los Angeles. The role supports a wide range of legal matters including environmental, water rights, public finance, and more. Responsibilities Conduct legal research to support briefs, opinions, and other documents. Prepare memoranda summarizing court decisions, statutes, and regulations. Analyze legal issues across diverse practice areas such as environmental, energy, water rights, Native American law, regulatory, tort, employment, public finance, real property, construction, and contract law. Work Schedule and Hours Part‑time: at least 16 hours per week; schedule flexible to accommodate classes. Full‑time: 44‑36 schedule, Monday through Friday with alternating Fridays off; start times no earlier than 6 am and end times no later than 6 pm. Hybrid work model: two days in person and two days remote, subject to change. Estimated assignment length: up to 18 months. Qualifications Completion of first year of law school.
