Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Endoscopy position requiring intraprocedural GI technical experience and at least 3 years of specialty experience.

Details

• Work in the Main Endoscopy department of a Level III trauma center
• Gastroenterology specialty covering pre, intra, and post procedure care
• Adult patient population with mid to high acuity
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• 7 beds within the unit
• Common procedures include colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and bronchoscopy
• Uses Olympus endoscopy equipment
• Charts in Cerner EHR
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• On-call required for evenings and weekends
• May float to Pre-Op when Endoscopy case volume is low

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• RN degree required
• Intraprocedural technical experience in GI/Endoscopy required
• Demonstrated competency in critical actions including biopsy, dilatation, variceal banding, polypectomy, foreign body retrieval, clip application, and ERCP-related procedures
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and supplies
• Ability to proactively assist team members in assigned roles

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across pre, intra, and post procedure phases for GI patients
• Work alongside RNs and Surgical Techs in a collaborative endoscopy team
• Facility performs Level I and II procedures with the exception of open heart cases
• Located in Farmington, New Mexico, offering access to outdoor recreation and nearby cities such as Durango, CO and Albuquerque, NM
