Overview
The VP of Human Resources is responsible for providing strategic leadership and executive-level guidance for all human resources functions at a mid-size digital media agency based in Miami, FL. This role partners closely with the executive team and agency leadership to drive people strategy, talent acquisition, organizational development, culture, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, creative environment. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience leading HR at the VP or senior level, with a strong track record in employee relations and talent managemen. Base salary range is $170,000 to $190,000 per year. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Serve as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to the CEO and senior leadership team on all people-related matters to drive business results and agency growth
- Develop, implement, and oversee the full suite of HR strategies, policies, and programs aligned with the agency's business objectives, culture, and creative talent needs
- Lead and manage the HR function, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, compliance, learning and development, and succession planning
- Partner with department heads and creative/account leadership to translate business and client needs into effective people strategies and high-performing teams
- Oversee employee relations matters, investigations, conflict resolution, and performance issues, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes
- Stay current with federal, state, and local employment laws and best practices; ensure agency-wide compliance and mitigate risk
- Manage total rewards programs, including competitive compensation structures, benefits, and recognition initiatives tailored to digital media talent
- Drive talent acquisition strategy; build strong employer brand and recruiting pipelines in a competitive market
- Lead organizational development, change management, and culture initiatives to support agency growth, hybrid work models, and high engagement
- Facilitate communication between employees and leadership; promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture
- Partner with leadership on succession planning, leadership development, and talent reviews to build bench strength across the agency
- Oversee HRIS, data integrity, reporting, and people analytics to inform decision-making and continuous improvement
- Recommend and implement process improvements, cost efficiencies, and innovative HR solutions that support operational excellence
- Manage external vendors, benefits brokers, legal counsel, and other HR partners as needed
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressive human resources experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field required; Master's degree or SHRM-SCP / SPHR certification strongly preferred
- Proven experience leading HR in a mid-size organization (approximately 200-750 employees)
- Strong background in employee relations, performance management, and handling complex workplace issues in a professional services or agency environment
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale HR infrastructure, policies, and programs in a fast-paced, growth-oriented setting
- Solid understanding of employment law, compliance, and risk management in Florida and multi-state environments
- Excellent relationship management, influencing, and executive presence skills; ability to partner effectively with C-level and creative leaders
- Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to align people strategies to agency P&L and growth goals
- Experience with HRIS systems, ATS platforms, and people analytics tools
- High attention to detail, adaptability, resilience, and cultural awareness
- Ability to manage competing priorities, lead cross-functional initiatives, and drive results in a matrixed environment
- Bilingual (Spanish) language skills a plus
