Director, Clinical Program Management

Position Summary The Director, Clinical Program Management will serve as the cross-functional program lead responsible for driving execution of Pretzel’s clinical-stage programs. This individual will partner closely with Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, CMC, and Nonclinical to ensure alignment, integration, and delivery across all aspects of development from IND through late-stage clinical execution. This role is accountable for translating program strategy into actionable plans, establishing and managing timelines, tracking progress across functions, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks. The Director will operate as the central point of coordination across complex, interdependent workstreams, ensuring that clinical programs advance efficiently and in alignment with corporate priorities. As Pretzel continues to advance into clinical development, this individual will bring structure, clarity, and operational rigor to an increasingly complex environment, enabling teams to execute effectively across multiple programs and functions. Key Responsibilities Serve as the program management lead for one or more clinical-stage programs, ensuring cross-functional alignment across Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, CMC, and Nonclinical Develop and maintain integrated program plans, including timelines, key milestones, critical paths, and interdependencies across all functions Drive cross-functional team meetings, ensuring clear agendas, decision‑making, accountability, and follow‑through on action items Partner with functional leads to ensure plans are realistic, aligned, and executable, while maintaining visibility to risks and trade‑offs Identify program risks, gaps, and dependencies early, and proactively drive mitigation strategies and escalation when needed Ensure alignment between clinical strategy and operational execution, working closely with Clinical Development and Clinical Operations to support trial readiness and delivery Track progress against program milestones and provide clear, concise updates to leadership and governance forums Support preparation of materials for internal governance, regulatory interactions, and key program milestones Facilitate effective communication across functions, ensuring teams remain aligned as programs evolve and complexity increases Contribute to development and continuous improvement of program management processes, tools, and operating cadence as the organization scales Support resource planning and prioritization discussions to ensure programs are appropriately staffed and sequenced Experience & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or related discipline required; advanced degree preferred 8–10+ years of experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on program or project management within clinical development Demonstrated experience supporting clinical-stage programs (Phase I–III), with strong understanding of how clinical development integrates with CMC, Regulatory, and Nonclinical functions Proven ability to manage complex, cross‑functional programs with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities Strong operational mindset with the ability to translate strategy into detailed, executable plans Experience driving timelines, managing risks, and holding teams accountable in a fast‑paced, resource‑conscious environment Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with the ability to maintain clarity across multiple workstreams simultaneously Experience in rare disease, genetic medicine, or early‑stage biotech environments preferred Experience with relevant project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet) built for compliance, documentation control, risk management, and cross‑functional collaboration Benefits Pretzel offers a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary, annual bonus eligibility, incentive stock options, comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), paid time off, company holidays, and an annual winter shutdown. #J-18808-Ljbffr Pretzeltx
