Operations Manager

Position Summary Operations Manager of Building Services responsible for overall efficiency and operation of the department and sub-departments: Housekeeping/Environmental Services, Messenger/Transport, Linen, Television Services. Job Responsibilities Demonstrates knowledge of the organization’s Core Values and incorporates them into the performance of the department. Provides leadership to all levels of management. Excellent interpersonal skills, service/quality attitude, ability to plan, organize, manage time, work under pressure, meet goals, and public speaking. Develops high, wide, and deep relations with all other departments; represents the EVS/BSD Department and ensures its services are effective and efficient. Plans, organizes, develops and leads overall departmental operations in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards; partners with leadership team to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and risk management programs. Finalizes policies and procedures for the department as needed. Conducts hiring interviews. Controls expenses within the area of responsibility. Submits final financial (budget), staffing, and performance assessment reports; reports on data trends, strengths, and weaknesses; formulates plans for performance and adjusts as needed. Oversees employee training and education program; approves monthly in-service topics and provides additional topics as needed. Represents the department in senior leadership meetings, including Labor Productivity, Environment of Care Committee, and others. Final decision maker for all departmental policies and procedures. Manages labor relations, interfaces with union leadership through Performance Improvement Teams and other forums to maintain a proactive relationship and ensure morale and efficiencies. Directs a substantial workforce (management and union). Creates a team capable of providing world-class customer service; leads, trains, and instills this philosophy. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree preferred. Benefits Salary range: $82,886.36–$101,359.44 annually (varies by experience, education, and hospital needs).
