Medical Surgical Services Clinical Coordinator Job Title: Clinical Coordinator Department: Medical-Surgical Services Reports to: Director of Medical-Surgical Services Department Status: Hourly Job Summary: Primary responsibility is to provide administrative support and assistance to Medical Surgical Director. Duties/Responsibilities: Maintain discretion with sensitive, confidential information concerning physicians, employees and patient related material, as well as information contained in minutes, letters, and other documents. KRONOS Create and maintain staff schedules and obtain replacement/additional staff when applicable Receive and screen telephone calls and process department specific mail. Develop and monitor department budget with Director. Work with the accounting department on budget and monitoring for the department. Information collection, communication follow-up, organizing and maintaining files as well as coordinating various paperwork associated with projects. Attend meetings and participate on committees as directed/required. Compose correspondence, memos, reports and minutes as instructed or required. Create and maintain reports Perform filing and record-keeping to allow for easy retrieval of information in a timely manner. Maintain staff files and competencies, schedule CPR, ALS and other mandatory trainings/classes and track compliance. Maintain employee files to comply with all regulatory agency requirements (e.g. DOH and Joint Commission Standards) Maintain new employee folders and schedules by coordinating with Human Resources. Help Desk Tickets-submit and coordinate Demonstrate supportive and understanding communication and behavior when in contact with guest, (patients, visitors, clients, physicians, employees, volunteers, etc.), always displaying positive guest relations. Perform other duties as directed by supervisor. Required Skills/Abilities (Unit Specific): Ability to create superior patient experiences while generating positive guest relations in an office setting. Proficient in standard computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, with excellent typing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as active listening skills. Excellent time management skills, organizational skills, and ability to handle several tasks simultaneously. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required Previous office experience preferred Healthcare experience preferred Working Conditions: Extended periods of sitting, using standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, phones, scanners, fax machines, printers, etc. Requires attendance of seminars, workshops, conferences when appropriate. Requires leading and/or attending staff and executive meetings. Occasionally requires assembling, using, and/or maintaining department equipment. Occasionally requires prolonged periods of standing and walking with the ability to lift, push or pull up to 15 lbs. using proper body mechanics. Actively participates in Quality Assurance Programs and in-service programs; completes department specific requirements/competencies; attends all mandatory classes as required; participates in meetings and committees as assigned. Complies with DOH requirements for annual health assessments and required immunizations. Pay Range: $20.20/hr Employee salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
