Community Volunteer Engagement Senior Specialist

Job Description Joining the American Red Cross offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a global humanitarian mission. The Community Volunteer Engagement Senior Specialist will mobilize regional volunteer teams, design new volunteer opportunities, and build community partnerships to meet mission needs. Job Overview The Community Volunteer Engagement Senior Specialist mobilizes regional teams of volunteers to deliver impactful mission across Red Cross lines of service. This role will grow local community volunteer capacity and design new volunteer opportunities to meet mission, community, and evolving volunteer needs. This person will work as a player/coach directly engaging volunteers in their assigned jurisdictions and supporting volunteers and volunteer specialists across the region to meet mission needs in their areas. Key Responsibilities Engage volunteers for episodic and event‑based opportunities. Collaborate with volunteer leadership committees and community programming leads. Coordinate Home Fire Campaign activities and Restoring Family Links outreach. Design and share non‑traditional volunteer opportunity types. Develop visibility and engagement of internal volunteers, youth groups, and partners. Manage volunteer workforce systems and processes to ensure staffing and support. Provide continuous improvement through data analysis and program refinement. Lead teams of volunteers locally and regionally and support peers across the region. Report on community volunteer impact and recommend process improvements. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related experience. Volunteer Management experience preferred. Skills & Abilities: Teamwork and collaboration skills. Excellent oral and written communication. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of group dynamics, customer maintenance, negotiation, and program implementation. Preferred Qualifications Volunteer Management experience recruiting and training volunteers. Demonstrated collaborative team player ability. Effective written and verbal communication across audiences. Presentation skills with engaging content. Relationship building and stakeholder communication. Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant systems.
