About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Director of Tax to lead their Tax practice and serve as a trusted advisor to key clients.

This is a senior leadership position that combines tax expertise, team leadership, client service, business development, and department strategy . The Director will oversee complex tax engagements, develop and mentor the Tax team, improve department processes, and work closely with firm leadership to support continued growth.

What You'll Do

• Lead the Tax department and help set its strategic direction.
• Oversee department staffing, workflow, performance, and financial goals.
• Manage and review complex tax engagements for individuals and businesses.
• Provide tax planning, consulting, projections, and strategic guidance to clients.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and other key clients.
• Research changes in tax laws and communicate their impact to clients and team members.
• Work with other departments to provide clients with comprehensive solutions.
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and grow the business.
• Partner with firm leadership on budgeting, planning, and overall business strategy.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Active CPA license required.
• 10+ years of public accounting tax experience , including progressive leadership responsibility.
• Strong experience with complex individual and business tax returns.
• Advanced knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and tax planning.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tax software; experience with Thomson Reuters CS Professional Suite is preferred.
