Location: Ridgefield, WA

Pay: $28 $32/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join a growing structural steel team in Ridgefield, WA. This role focuses on fabricating and assembling complex structural components such as beams, columns, and support structures. Ideal candidates will have strong blueprint reading skills, experience with Metal Core welding, and the ability to perform precise layout and fitting work in a production shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform layout, fitting, and assembly of structural steel components including I-beams, columns, channels, and supports
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols, and cut lists with high accuracy
• Complete Metal Core welding (NOT Flux Core or Dual Shield) while maintaining quality and structural integrity
• Measure, mark, and position materials using precision layout techniques
• Apply shop math (fractions, angles, bevels, radiuses, tolerances, etc.) for accurate fabrication
• Verify alignment, dimensions, and squareness before and after welding
• Follow AISC standards and welding symbols to ensure compliance
• Work closely with team members and quality control to meet production goals
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
• Perform tasks independently with minimal supervision

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience fabricating and welding structural steel (beams, columns, etc.)
• Strong proficiency with Metal Core welding (MIG experience preferred)
• Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and shop drawings
• Solid shop math skills (including imperial/metric conversions)
• Knowledge of AISC and AWS standards
• Ability to work with tight tolerances (as precise as 1/16")
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship
• Ability to lift 5090 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a structural steel fabrication shop
• Familiarity with AISC fabrication practices and quality standards
• Experience working in production-driven environments with deadlines

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ridgefield, WA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
