Zoom Meeting Host for School Committee

Job Overview The Lunenburg Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Zoom Meeting Host to support our School Committee in their bimonthly meetings. This position is responsible for the setup of the meeting equipment, monitoring and admitting users into the meetings, and the clean‑up of the equipment after the meeting. You will be the “director behind the scenes,” responsible for managing participants, troubleshooting technical issues in real‑time, and ensuring that presenters can focus entirely on delivering their content without worrying about the technology. Meeting dates are typically the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, starting in September and ending in June. Hours will be roughly 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm for setup and cleanup. Key Responsibilities Pre‑Meeting Preparation: Set up the AV cart with the laptop, wireless microphones, and camera and start the meeting at the appropriate time. Live Event Management: Act as the primary technical host during live meetings, including managing the waiting room, admitting guests, and muting/unmuting participants as needed. Technical Support: Serve as the first point of contact for technical troubleshooting, assisting presenters and attendees with audio, video, screen‑sharing issues, and changing batteries in the mics as needed. Security & Moderation: Enforce meeting security protocols to prevent Zoom‑bombing and actively moderate participant behavior to maintain a professional environment. Post‑Meeting Duties: Disassemble and clean up the AV cart and associated equipment. Qualifications & Requirements Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of Zoom and its advanced features. Tech Setup: Confidence to troubleshoot as needed if any issues arise during the meeting. Soft Skills: Exceptional ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, live environment; a calm and professional demeanor, especially when handling unexpected technical glitches under pressure.
