Account Executive

The Opportunity M2M is seeking a thoughtful communications professional who pairs strong writing and client instincts with exacting attention to detail and sound judgment. The Account Executive is a senior, hands‑on role working directly with M2M’s founder and president across the agency’s full client portfolio. The founder will remain the primary account lead and retain responsibility for strategy, crisis and sensitive matters, pricing and scope, executive counsel, and final approval of major materials. The Account Executive will develop a strong understanding of each client, help move work forward, and earn increasing autonomy over routine client and media communications as knowledge and trust develop. The position also offers meaningful ownership of M2M’s growing social media capabilities. What You’ll Do Develop a working knowledge of each client’s business, audiences, priorities, preferences, and communications cadence Draft and edit media pitches, press releases, talking points, FAQs, client correspondence, award and speaking submissions, reports, and other communications materials Own social media planning and execution for M2M and select clients, including content calendars, copy, visual‑asset coordination, publishing, community engagement, and performance reporting Recommend and implement ways to grow social media reach, engagement, and impact Research journalists, outlets, trends, editorial opportunities, awards, partnerships, and story angles Build and maintain accurate media lists, conduct thoughtful outreach, and coordinate interviews Monitor client and industry news, organize coverage, provide timely alerts, and maintain client‑ready reports and project materials Manage multiple deadlines across the portfolio, anticipate useful next steps, and flag potential risks early Participate in routine client and media communications with increasing independence Support light day‑to‑day office continuity in Tiburon and contribute to other agency priorities as needed What You Bring At least three years of professional experience in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, media, or related client‑service work A bachelor’s degree; a degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills Demonstrated social media experience, including strategy, content development, day‑to‑day channel ownership, and the use of performance insights to support growth Exceptional attention to detail, organization, responsiveness, and follow‑through The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines Sound judgment, discretion, and respect for confidential client and agency information Professional client and media communication skills Comfort working closely with a founder in a small, fast‑moving agency Additional Experience We Value PR or communications agency experience Proficiency with AI tools and sound judgment regarding accuracy, confidentiality, and appropriate professional use Experience with consumer packaged goods, food, or beverage brands Familiarity with Cision or another media database and monitoring platform; training is available Experience with blog posts, long‑form content, events, activations, community engagement, or partnerships Experience supporting proposals, capabilities materials, website content, prospect research, or other new‑business initiatives A valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for occasional business travel Schedule and Location This is an ongoing, part‑time, nonexempt W-2 position averaging approximately 30 hours per week. The typical schedule spans five weekdays beginning at 10 a.m., with flexibility available by mutual agreement. The position is primarily based in M2M’s Tiburon office, with hybrid work available when appropriate for the employee, founder, clients, and workload. Occasional Bay Area travel is anticipated. Evening and weekend events are generally optional, and any time worked will be recorded and paid. M2M’s founder retains after‑hours and on‑call responsibility.
