About the Opportunity Career Connections is seeking a friendly, organized, and service-oriented Front Desk Associate to support a busy office at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. This role serves as the first point of contact for students, visitors, faculty, staff, and community members, making professionalism and strong communication skills essential. The ideal candidate will enjoy helping others, managing multiple priorities, and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced office environment. What You'll Be Doing As the Front Desk Associate, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day office operations by: Greeting and assisting visitors, students, faculty, and staff in person, by phone, and through email communication. Serving as the primary point of contact and providing a welcoming and professional experience for all visitors. Managing front desk operations, including visitor check-in procedures and appointment scheduling. Coordinating calendars and assisting with appointment management. Processing electronic forms, maintaining records, and performing accurate data entry. Answering questions and directing visitors to the appropriate advisors, departments, or campus resources. Collecting, organizing, and distributing paperwork and other office materials. Monitoring office supply inventory and placing supply orders as needed. Managing office keys and maintaining key records. Assisting with event preparation, coordination, and participation when needed. Supporting special projects and completing additional administrative duties as assigned. Schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Full-time hours Temporary assignment lasting through May 1, 2027 What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least one year of related office, customer service, reception, or administrative support experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with standard office technology and computer applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Experience working in higher education, student services, advising, or a professional office environment. Ideal Candidate Friendly, approachable, and customer focused. Comfortable interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Sensitive and responsive to the needs of individuals whose first language may not be English.
