FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN I – ELECTRO-MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT

Quest International | Detroit, MI / Field-Based

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour, plus overtime eligibility
Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire
Travel: Up to 80%, including overnight travel

This is a hands-on field service role supporting medical, industrial, diagnostic, and electro-mechanical equipment at customer sites.

You must be able to:

• Travel up to 80%, including overnight travel
• Use your own reliable vehicle for work-related travel
• Maintain a valid driver’s license
• Obtain and maintain required auto insurance coverage
• Work independently at customer sites
• Use tools and troubleshoot physical equipment
• Work with wiring, connectors, sensors, motors, power supplies, circuit boards, and assemblies
• Document service activity, repair findings, and parts used
• Accept the pay range of $24.00 - $29.00 per hour, plus overtime eligibility
• Accept the temp-to-hire structure
• Complete the required Human Performance Test

REQUIRED AUTO INSURANCE COVERAGE

Candidates using a personal vehicle for work-related travel must be able and willing to maintain the required coverage below:

• $100,000 bodily injury liability per person
• $100,000 property damage liability
• $300,000 bodily injury liability per accident

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Travel to customer sites for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
• Service electro-mechanical equipment used in medical, industrial, diagnostic, lab, manufacturing, or OEM environments
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and replace failed parts, modules, assemblies, or field-replaceable units
• Use a digital multimeter, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Follow service manuals, SOPs, safety procedures, and customer requirements
• Document service activity, repair findings, parts used, and next steps
• Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams

WHAT YOU BRING

• 1+ year of hands-on technical repair, maintenance, installation, field service, industrial maintenance, appliance repair, automotive diagnostics, electronics repair, or electro-mechanical experience
• Experience using a digital multimeter or similar diagnostic tool
• Experience with wiring, connectors, harnesses, mechanical assemblies, or electronic components
• Ability to read and follow service procedures, diagrams, and technical documentation
• Strong customer communication and repair documentation skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Medical equipment, industrial equipment, diagnostic equipment, lab equipment, manufacturing equipment, or OEM equipment
• FRU, module, part-level, or component-level troubleshooting
• Replacing boards, sensors, motors, wiring, power supplies, connectors, or assemblies
• Military technical training, trade school, BMET, electronics, automotive, aviation, robotics, industrial maintenance, or mechatronics
• Strong service documentation habits

COMPENSATION, OVERTIME, AND BENEFITS

• Pay Range: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
• Overtime: Overtime eligible based on business need, travel, customer-site work, and applicable wage-and-hour requirements

Actual compensation is based on job-related factors, including skills, experience, technical background, field service experience, diagnostic tool experience, and overall role alignment.
