Labor And Delivery Registered Nurse (Rn)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Labor And Delivery Registered Nurse (Rn) to join our Women's Services team. This position is based in a secure unit dedicated to labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for laboring women and postpartum patients, including well baby and well mom care.
• Manage high-risk and critical patients while stabilizing them for transfer as necessary.
• Participate in care protocols for hypertensive crises and hemorrhage management.
• Collaborate with on-site OB and pediatric personnel, ensuring adherence to AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios.
• Utilize critical nursing skills, including newborn stabilization, while working independently, particularly during nights and weekends.
• Titrate medications as required, including mag and pit, while monitoring patients closely.

Shifts And Scheduling

This position offers 12-hour night shifts, with a guaranteed 48 hours of work per week. Schedules are self-managed with core staff, with weekend and holiday requirements evenly distributed among team members.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor And Delivery or related area, with strong recent labor experience preferred.
• Current certifications required: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and STABLE.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage laboring patients.

Additional Information

• The unit consists of 6 L&D beds, with one OR suite dedicated to C-sections.
• A shared pediatric physician is available weekdays, with on-call support during nights and weekends.
• Effective communication and teamwork are essential as this role requires collaboration with various healthcare professionals.
• Orientation includes one facility day and two shifts on the unit for training.
