A leading acute care hospital in Rome, Georgia is seeking experienced MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurses to join a fast-paced and highly collaborative healthcare team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a diverse clinical environment with exposure to medical-surgical, cardiac, neuro, trauma, pulmonary, oncology, and critical care patients.

Position Details

Position: RN - MedSurg/Telemetry
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
First-Time Travelers: Considered, but not preferred
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Patient Population & Unit Exposure
Medical-Surgical Units

Experience with patients including:

Syncope
Stroke/CVA history
Oncology & palliative care
Orthopedic trauma & fractures
General surgery & trauma
Pulmonary conditions
Bariatric & vascular surgery patients

Stepdown & Critical Care Exposure

Neurology Stepdown
Cardiac Stepdown
Observation/Decision Unit
ICU (Medical, Neuro, Surgical & Cardiac)

Common Diagnoses

CHF
COPD
Sepsis
Acute respiratory failure
A-Fib
Cardiac arrhythmias
Stroke
Trauma
Post-op surgical patients
Neurological disorders

Required Certifications

BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
CPI (facility can provide if needed)

Required Skills

Candidates should have strong experience with:

Basic arrhythmia interpretation
Foley catheter irrigation
PCA & Epidural management
Buck's traction
Drains & chest tube management
Cardiac drips
Neuro, pulmonary, trauma & surgical patients

Note: Facility policy requires two nurses for Foley catheter insertion.

Orientation
Week 1

Hospital Orientation (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Week 2

2-3 days unit orientation

Scheduling

12-hour shifts
- Days: 7A-7P
- Nights: 7P-7A
Every other weekend rotation
Holiday requirement: 70%
On-call is rare and only if census is low
