Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Licensed Master Social Worker for a travel assignment at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.

This role supports inpatient case management and consult-based social work services across multiple patient populations.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This assignment is ideal for LMSWs with acute care experience who are comfortable managing complex discharge planning, psychosocial assessments, and interdisciplinary care coordination.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
• 13-week contract
• 5x8 Day shifts
• 08:30–17:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope
• Inpatient consult-based social work service

COMPENSATION
• Gross: $2,245 per week
• W2: $15.00 per hour
• Tax-Free Stipend: $1,645 per week

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Complete psychosocial assessments and evaluations
• Develop discharge plans aligned with clinical and regulatory standards
• Provide brief clinical interventions and emotional support
• Coordinate care and resource navigation for patients and families
• Screen for suicidality and assist with safety planning
• Complete mandated reporting based on state statutes
• Collaborate with RN Case Managers and interdisciplinary teams

WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Level II Trauma Center
• 400+ staffed beds
• Teams include Emergency Department, Children’s, and Adult services
• Epic charting system
Requirements:

• HARD STOP: Acute care hospital social work experience REQUIRED
• Active Alaska LMSW or LCSW required (pending AK license accepted)
• Master’s degree from CSWE-accredited school required
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience preferred
• Ability to work 5x8 schedule (08:30–17:00) with every other weekend
• Ability to perform discharge planning and psychosocial assessments
• Must meet local radius rule (over 50 miles from facility)
• RTO must be submitted at time of submission
• Minimum 2 supervisory references required covering 1 year within last 3 years

Important Notes:
• HARDSTOP – redirect candidates without acute care experience
• Tier 3 travel compliance required
• Travelers must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Only one facility submission allowed within region
• Return staff must wait minimum 3 months before returning as traveler
• Maximum assignment duration is 1 year with required 6-month break after
• Hep B vaccine required (no titers or declinations accepted)
• Modules non-billable (average 16 hours pre-start and annually)
