Job Summary
The Procurement Category Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize procurement performance across the organization. This role collaborates with internal stakeholders, manufacturers, and distributors to drive value, improve supplier relationships, and support supply chain objectives through effective sourcing and category management.
Job Description
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies for assigned categories
- Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Prepare and execute RFQs and RFPs
- Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships, including pricing, discount structures, and commercial terms
- Analyze spending patterns and develop strategic sourcing plans
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and procurement requirements
- Track and report key procurement performance metrics
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
Skills Required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain, preferably in the oil and gas industry
- Experience developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies for MRO
- Experience executing RFQs and RFPs
- Experience negotiating contracts
- Experience with Oracle (Cloud and EBS), JD Edwards, or Glovia
- Strong understanding of supply chain fundamentals, including strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to completion
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools for contract management, supplier evaluation, and data analysis
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to understand business needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity
- Self-motivated and results-driven
- Ability to meet deadlines
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to pass a drug screen & criminal background check
- Schedule: Day Shift (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM), Monday through Friday
Pay Rate/Salary
- $31.25-$40.87/hr. Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors
