Job Details

The Certified Medical Assistant provides quality patient care and educational experiences through administrative, clinical, and other duties.

• CMA Certification Required
• 2 years of experience preferred

• Obtains patient medical information and vital signs per protocols.
• Records and reports patient concerns to the medical provider.
• Records patient medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results and vaccines in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Prepares patient and exam room for examinations and procedures.
• Assists provider with examining and treating patients during medical procedures.
• Performs such tasks as giving injections and medications as directed by the provider.
• Collects blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, logs the specimens, and prepares for testing.
• Educates and communicates to patients on results, follow-up care, or discharge instructions.
• Obtains and schedules patient referral appointments with outpatient testing or additional care.
• Scans and enters immunizations and medical data into the electronic health record system.
• Cleans and sterilizes instruments and disposes of contaminated supplies.
• Maintains and replenishes supplies and keeps the exam rooms neat and clean.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
