Medical Laboratory Technologist

We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a 13-week contract assignment in a hospital setting in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts . The ideal candidate will have strong clinical laboratory experience and be proficient in performing diagnostic testing, specimen analysis, and quality control procedures. This role requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently during night shifts, and collaboration with laboratory staff, pathologists, and healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely test results that support quality patient care. Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Location: Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 Shift: Nights Schedule: 4 x 10-Hour Shifts (40 Hours/Week) Pay Rate: $45–$48/Hour Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a 13-week contract assignment in a hospital setting in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical laboratory experience and be proficient in performing diagnostic testing, analyzing specimens, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of laboratory results. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and complex laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and protocols. Analyze blood, urine, tissue, and other biological specimens for diagnostic purposes. Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments. Verify and report accurate test results in a timely manner. Adhere to quality control, quality assurance, and laboratory safety standards. Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation. Troubleshoot equipment and testing issues as needed. Collaborate with pathologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care. Follow all hospital, regulatory, and infection control policies. Required Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field. Current MLT certification (ASCP or equivalent preferred). Previous hospital laboratory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, specimen handling, and quality control practices. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
