Responsibilities Physical therapists are movement experts who improve quality of life through hands‑on care, patient education, and prescribed movement. They work as a team with physical therapy assistants to treat people of all ages and abilities. This position in Presbyterian’s outpatient rehabilitation department gives clinicians the opportunity to treat a variety of patients and to work with a group of therapists with a range of specialties. The outpatient rehabilitation team is collaborative and patient‑focused. We place a strong emphasis on providing orientation and mentorship to ensure the well‑being and success of our new team members. Join a team committed to improving the health of our communities. Evaluate patients, develop plans and goals, and implement treatment programs to improve physical or developmental dysfunction and independence in activities of daily living. Continuously reassess treatment plans and goals. Educate and instruct regarding home programs and preventive measures where appropriate to patient, family, and others. Prepare written documentation as required by the profession and the department in a timely manner. Communicate with patient, family, physician, and other healthcare providers regarding patient care. Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Participate in educational programs, in‑services, and other meetings as required. Participate on special project teams and other related duties as assigned. Qualifications New graduates are encouraged to apply. Bachelor’s degree required. Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred. New Mexico license of Physical Therapy required. BLS required at time of hire.
