Job Description

AECOMis hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in New York, New York October 15th and 16th. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027.

The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm , where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You'll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Friday, interviews will take place at our New York office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOM is seeking a Mechanical EngineeringIntern to be based in our New York, NY or Bloomfield, NJ offices.

This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2027.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
• Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study
• Performs engineering design activities under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or in another related field and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD is a plus.
• Mechanical Engineering courses taken with an emphasis in the Thermal-Sciences realm (Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer, etc.).
• MS Office experience - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Bloomfield, NJ or New York, NY. The selected candidate must be available to work in Bloomfield, NJ or New York, NY on a scheduled basis.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $25 to $31.
