About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head of Credit & Fraud to take on a pivotal role in owning and shaping the credit and fraud risk strategy for its lending business. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and leading the implementation of credit and fraud policies across the customer lifecycle, with a focus on maximizing risk-adjusted returns and managing losses. This role demands a highly data-driven individual with a commitment to a test-and-learn approach, the ability to balance growth and losses, and the executive presence to communicate credit decisions effectively. The Head of Credit & Fraud will also be tasked with building and leading a high-performing team, partnering with the Executive Leadership Team on strategic decisions, and ensuring that credit and fraud policies meet regulatory and partner requirements. Applicants for the Head of Credit & Fraud position at the company should have a college degree in a quantitative discipline and at least 12 years' of experience in financial services, with a minimum of 8 years' in credit risk. The role requires a proven track record in team leadership, experience in fraud risk strategy, and a strong background in working with capital partners. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of consumer lending regulation, be highly data-driven, and possess the technical fluency to challenge and influence decision-making. Preferred qualifications include experience in fintech or smaller financial services companies, unsecured consumer lending, and a background in managing a consumer lending portfolio through a credit downturn. The Head of Credit & Fraud will be expected to build a culture of accountability, curiosity, and sound judgment within the team, and to grow future leaders in the organization.
