Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN (As Needed) Department: Hospice / Visiting Nurse Service (VNS) Location: Glendive Medical Center & Community-Based Services Status: PRN (As Needed) Make a Difference Where It Matters Most Glendive Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Hospice and Visiting Nurse Service team on a PRN basis. This role provides nursing care to patients receiving hospice, home health, and chronic care management services throughout our community. As a PRN RN, you will support patients and families by delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in their homes and other community settings while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to enhancing quality of life. What You'll Do Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans. Coordinate care with physicians, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Monitor patient conditions and communicate significant changes appropriately. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care conferences. Provide guidance and support to LPNs and other healthcare staff. Assist with Medicare Annual Wellness Visits, Dementia Team Assessments, and COVID follow-up visits and calls as needed. Maintain compliance with department policies, procedures, and nursing standards. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities. Perform other duties as assigned. On-Call Responsibilities PRN nurses may have opportunities to participate in the department's on-call rotation based on staffing needs. On-call responsibilities include responding to patient needs and providing nursing support during assigned on-call periods. Qualifications Required Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Montana. Minimum six months of recent professional nursing experience. Current BLS Certification. Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the service area. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Effective organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and delegate appropriately. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health documentation systems. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Ability to travel throughout the service area and safely drive in varying weather conditions.
