About Us

JOC Construction is a growing excavation and underground utility contractor seeking a dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This position involves operating a variety of equipment used in excavation, site preparation, utility installation, and directional boring projects. We are willing to train motivated individuals who have a strong work ethic and are eager to learn a skilled trade.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment including:
- Excavators
- Backhoes
- Directional Bore Machines
- Skid Steers and other construction equipment as needed
Assist with excavation, trenching, grading, and utility installation projects
Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
Follow project plans, safety procedures, and company standards
Work closely with crew members to complete projects efficiently and safely
Load and unload equipment and materials as needed
Maintain a clean and organized worksite
Assist with general labor duties when equipment operation is not required

Requirements

Previous heavy equipment operating experience is preferred but not required
Willingness to learn excavation and directional boring operations
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Ability to lift, carry, and move construction materials as needed
Dependable attendance and punctuality
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Valid Driver's License preferred
