About Us
JOC Construction is a growing excavation and underground utility contractor seeking a dependable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This position involves operating a variety of equipment used in excavation, site preparation, utility installation, and directional boring projects. We are willing to train motivated individuals who have a strong work ethic and are eager to learn a skilled trade.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including:
- Excavators
- Backhoes
- Directional Bore Machines
- Skid Steers and other construction equipment as needed
- Assist with excavation, trenching, grading, and utility installation projects
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Follow project plans, safety procedures, and company standards
- Work closely with crew members to complete projects efficiently and safely
- Load and unload equipment and materials as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite
- Assist with general labor duties when equipment operation is not required
Requirements
- Previous heavy equipment operating experience is preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn excavation and directional boring operations
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to lift, carry, and move construction materials as needed
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Valid Driver's License preferred
