C++/Python Trading Platform Developer

Investment Bank Trading Services Position

Our client is a world renowned Investment Bank with offices in NYC.

What Is The Opportunity?

Our Trading Services team is responsible for developing and supporting trading platform (order management, market data, trading workflow, etc.) for equities, equity derivatives and other products.

This position will provide technical leadership, develop, and maintain core trading infrastructure for various desks such as Flow Trading, Delta One, Structured Products, etc.

What Will You Do?

Implement services for trading such as market data, order management, messaging layer, security reference data systems, position keeping systems, and services for user interfaces (C++, Python) – 50%

Work with quants, traders, and other stakeholders to design, implement and test technology used in trading – 20%

Participate in DevOps (continuous integration pipeline, code quality tools, release methodologies) – 10%

Lead projects by writing specifications and guide the team to choose appropriate frameworks, methodologies, and techniques – 20%

What Do You Need To Succeed?

Basic Qualifications (Legislative Requirement)

At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field

10+ years of experience building highly performant, low-latency systems on Linux platform

Expert level C++ programmer. Familiarity with C++11 or later. Must have ability to craft software that is maintainable and extensible. Must be able to guide a team of software developers towards the right solutions.

Expert level Linux platform knowledge

Proficiency in Python

Basic Unix shell scripting and database knowledge is required

Other Required Qualifications:

Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to work in fast-paced environments delivering quality solutions

Excellent communication skills and a high desire to collaborate and deliver high quality solutions.

Ability to communicate at all levels within technology and the business units

Ability to keep abreast of technology developments in low-latency trading and direct the team towards the right solutions

Ability to work in high-pressure environment of a trading desk
