The Vermillion (S.D.) Plain Talk — an award-winning community newspaper serving southeastern South Dakota since 1884 — is seeking applicants for the position of Editor. This leadership role will oversee local news coverage, including city and county government, school board, community events, feature stories, and regional sports, while guiding the newspaper's overall editorial direction. Responsibilities also include editing, page design using InDesign, and working closely with reporters, photographers, and community contributors. Applicants must possess strong writing, editing, and organizational skills. Experience with page design, photography, social media, and digital content is preferred. This position may be structured as either full-time or part-time, depending on the applicant’s experience and availability.
