Registered Veterinary Technician

Animal Medical Center San Rafael is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail‑oriented, loves pets, and enjoys working as part of a supportive, positive team. Experience needed includes rooming patients, drawing blood, placing IV catheters, radiology, assisting in surgeries, and proper animal handling & restraint. Compensation Hourly rate starts at $26.00 – $38.00, varying with experience, education, certifications, and location. A $500.00 sign‑on bonus is offered. Flexible scheduling – 8‑hour shifts, Monday–Saturday. Benefits Continuing Education (CE) allowance and paid CE PTO Annual uniform allowance Professional license reimbursement Referral program – bring a friend and earn compensation Career development and advancement opportunities Health, dental, vision, life insurance, and mental health resources Generous paid time off and holidays Supportive, collaborative work environment Location 4140 Redwood Hwy, San Rafael, CA 94903 Who You Are 1+ years clinical experience as a veterinary technician or assistant Registered Veterinary Technician in California, or eligible to become licensed within 3 months Degree from an AVMA‑accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred, not required Knowledge of industry tools and equipment Passion for working with animals and their owners Experience with proper animal handling and restraint Excellent communication and organizational skills Accurate medical history intake and basic exam procedures Skilled in venipuncture and IV catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, jugular) Able to perform digital radiology (X‑ray) positioning Perform complete dental procedures (digital X‑rays, scaling, polishing, charting); extraction experience preferred Comfortable with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique) Laboratory skills including microscope cytology; familiarity with IDEXX in‑house lab Effective client communication and education Adaptable to working well with doctors and team members Responsibilities Room patients and manage intake procedures Perform routine diagnostic and preventive care tasks Assist veterinarians during surgeries and anesthesia procedures Carry out laboratory and imaging studies Provide client education on health and wellness Maintain accurate patient records and documentation #J-18808-Ljbffr
