Equine Client Services Representative & Veterinary AssistantNorthwest Equine is a 100% ambulatory equine veterinary practice seeking a full-time Equine Client Services Representative & Veterinary Assistant to join our busy multi-doctor team. This unique position combines front-office client service responsibilities with hands-on veterinary assistant duties in the field. This role will be approximately 80% CSR work, and 20% field work. The ideal candidate is highly organized, professional, and adaptable, with a strong equine background and a passion for delivering exceptional care to both clients and patients. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy multitasking, and work collaboratively with veterinarians, support staff, and horse owners while maintaining a positive and service-oriented attitude.Client Services ResponsibilitiesAnswer multi-line phone system in a friendly, professional mannerSchedule appointments and coordinate ambulatory veterinary servicesManage client communications via phone, email, and text messagingProcess invoices and paymentsPerform data entry and maintain accurate medical recordsAssist with client follow-up and appointment remindersComplete general office and administrative tasksProvide exceptional customer service to clients and referring partnersVeterinary Assistant ResponsibilitiesAssist veterinarians with equine patient care, diagnostics, and treatmentsPrepare and stock veterinary vehicles for daily appointmentsMaintain inventory and supply levelsSafely handle and restrain horses during examinations, procedures, and emergenciesAssist with diagnostic testing, including radiography and laboratory proceduresAdminister medications under veterinarian supervisionClean, disinfect, and maintain trucks, equipment, and treatment areasSterilize and maintain surgical instruments and medical equipmentSupport veterinarians during routine and emergency field callsQualifications RequiredPrevious receptionist or customer service experienceKnowledge of basic horse care and the equine industryExperienced horse handling skills, including: Trotting and lunging horses, safe handling of horses under sedation.Strong written and verbal communication skillsProfessional email, text, and client communication experienceAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-doctor environmentSkilled in answering a multi-line phone systemAbility to follow instructions while also working independentlyBasic computer proficiency and willingness to learn new software systemsStrong attention to detail, grammar, and spellingDependable transportation and valid Washington State driver's licenseAbility to safely lift and carry at least 50 poundsMust be at least 18 years of ageGenuinely enjoys working with animals and can work with them even when they are stressed, ill, or in painWorks well as part of a team and maintains a positive, collaborative attitudePhysical RequirementsFrequently walk, stand, bend, squat, and lift throughout the workdayWork safely around horses of varying temperamentsPerform physical tasks in outdoor environments and varying weather conditionsMeet the physical demands associated with ambulatory equine veterinary medicineFrequently work in a bent, kneeling, or squatting positionAbility to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds safelyScheduleFull-time position; Monday–Friday schedule with hours varying based on practice needsParticipation in evening and weekend on-call rotations may be requiredWhat We're Looking For in The Ideal CandidateEnjoys working with horses and peopleRemains calm and professional in high-pressure situationsIs dependable, organized, and goal-orientedEmbraces teamwork and collaborationProvides outstanding service to clients and compassionate care to patientsTakes initiative and maintains a positive attitudeIs comfortable balancing office responsibilities with field workCompensation & BenefitsThe base hourly range for this position is $21.50–$26.00 per hour.
