Registered Nurse (RN)

Palliative care focuses on providing relief from the side effects of serious illness. This position involves managing symptoms for patients still under treatment, including uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, fatigue, and other challenges to improve their quality of life. The ideal candidate is a medical-surgical nurse looking to enhance palliative care skills while also gaining experience in high-acuity medical-surgical units through floating opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide effective symptom management for patients undergoing treatment.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Monitor and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
• Educate patients and families regarding palliative care options and resources.
• Float to other units of equivalent or lower acuity as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
• Epic experience is required for electronic health record management.
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred.

Shift Information

The position includes rotating shifts, with the possibility of being scheduled for day, night, or a combination of shifts based on department needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every four-week scheduling period, but changes are based on staffing priorities and are not guaranteed.

Parking Information

Agency staff have various parking permit options available for purchase:

• WMC Monthly Permit: Provides 24/7 access to the garage.
• WB Annual Permit: Available for weekend and holiday parking, along with shuttle service.
• CXS Annual Permit: Offers access to multiple parking locations with similar benefits as WB.

For shuttle service, parking is available in designated lots, approximately 1.7 miles from the workplace, with frequent shuttle runs to facilitate easy access.

Refund Information

Potential prorated refunds may be available for unused future months on annual permits. Current and prior months are non-refundable. To avoid additional charges, cancellations must occur by 6:30 p.m. on the last business day of the month.
