Position Overview School Bus Aide (Job ID: 3871) Position Type: Transportation / Bus Aide Date Posted: 10/1/2025 Location: District (West Ottawa Public Schools – Transportation) Date Available: Immediately Closing Date: Ongoing Reports To: Director of Transportation Starting Soonest: Immediately Qualifications Willingness and ability to submit to a criminal background check Job Responsibilities While riding in a school bus, monitor and assist students with special needs until released to a teacher, designated school employee, parent/guardian, or responsible adult. Other duties as assigned. Pay & Benefits Pay Schedule: Hourly rate (step 1-10) $16.48–$19.11 per hour. Paid time off: five days during Spring Break, two additional days during Winter Holiday Break for those with 6+ years; three personal paid days during the school year; two (5) paid snow days when used, with additional paid snow days from accrued personal or sick time up to the maximum allowed by law. Sick leave accrual and retirement through MPSERS. Eligibility for vision & dental insurance and certain health insurance benefits, or opt for cash in lieu for 30+ hours per week.
