Food Production Mixer
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable Production Associate (Batch Mixer) to join a growing food manufacturing team. This role is responsible for accurately preparing and mixing ingredients to produce high-quality baked goods according to established formulas and standards.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and takes pride in consistency and quality.
Pay: $25.00/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:30AM start (finish when production is complete)
Overtime available
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience with mixing products (1 year experience).
- 5-6 months experience of Scaling Ingredients is preferred.
- Strong basic math skills. Math/Aptitude assessment required.
- Ability to properly lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Excellent reading comprehension skills.
- Must be able to communicate in English (read, write and converse) in order to receive written and verbal job and safety instructions, comprehend hazardous material labeling, follow production schedule, and prepare graphs, weights and other production reports as required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work early morning shifts
- Must be able to work early morning shifts (4:30AM start time)
- Must be open to overtime and occasional weekend work
- Must follow food safety dress code (no jewelry, etc.)
- Must pass a basic aptitude/math assessment
- Subject to an internal mixer test
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Order necessary ingredients and in correct quantities as needed from scaling.
- Mix ingredients using machines, properly timing and monitoring for quality.
- Add ingredients in proper order and at the right time, produce expected results.
- Coordinate completion of mixed items with depositors.
- Spot check all scaled ingredients.
- Maintain clean and safe work area.
- Train co-workers on equipment and processes, as required.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
SKILLS:
- Proven experience in cooking, baking, or food production within a restaurant or food industry setting.
- Strong knowledge of sanitation practices, HACCP standards, and CGMP regulations.
- Mechanical knowledge related to food processing equipment and machinery maintenance.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in food handling techniques.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for ingredient measurements and recipe adjustments.
- Familiarity with food safety protocols and proper hygiene practices.
- Experience operating forklifts or similar equipment is a plus.
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food industry standards related to manufacturing, quality control, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in diverse settings.
PURPOSE:
To accurately prepare and properly mix the various batters used to create products. The major end results of the job are products that look and taste consistent with the standards established by the original formulas. This position is expected to be able to mix any of the formulas for the product line. The Batch Mixer must also adhere to all safety protocols, follow food safety and quality standards, and maintain a clean, organized work area.
