Job Description
The Overhead Crane Service Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting various types of cranes, including Overhead Bridge Cranes, Gantry Cranes, and Jib Cranes. Working as an independent field technician, this role involves occasional regional travel to ensure crane systems are safe, operational, and calibrated to manufacturer specifications. The technician will provide expert support through diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, parts replacement, and installation assistance.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular crane maintenance and safety inspections
- Help find and bring on new customers
- Conduct diagnostic testing and system calibration
- Repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic crane components
- Replace worn or defective parts to ensure operational efficiency
- Troubleshoot crane system issues and implement effective solutions
- Assist with crane installation and setup as needed
- Provide clear customer support and communicate maintenance findings
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in crane maintenance
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Welding skills and ability to read blueprints
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Effective customer communication and time management skills
