Job Description:
As a Java Developer , you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining modern web applications, backend services, and cloud-based solutions. This role requires hands-on experience across the Java and Spring ecosystem, including API development, AWS cloud services, and CI/CD-driven software delivery practices.

The ideal candidate is a pragmatic and self-driven developer who can work independently while collaborating effectively with technical and business stakeholders. You will contribute to application architecture, cloud integrations, deployment automation, and the delivery of scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications using modern Java SDK versions.

• Build and enhance applications using Spring Boot and the broader Spring Framework ecosystem.

• Develop, maintain, and support RESTful APIs and JSON-based integrations.

• Support web application development using Thymeleaf, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Work with AWS cloud services and infrastructure components to build scalable solutions.

• Contribute to source control management and development workflows using Git-based repositories.

• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines to support automated software delivery.

• Collaborate with team members on architecture decisions, implementation strategies, code reviews, and deployment practices.

• Support infrastructure-as-code initiatives and cloud automation efforts.

• Utilize modern development environments and tools to improve productivity and code quality.

• Apply software engineering best practices including testing, documentation, maintainability, and operational support.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools where appropriate to improve development efficiency and solution quality.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

• Strong professional experience developing enterprise applications using Java.

• Experience working with Java 21 or other recent versions of the Java SDK.

• Extensive experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework application development.

• Proven experience designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs.

• Strong understanding of JSON and API integration patterns.

• Familiarity with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Experience using Git-based source control platforms, preferably GitLab.

• Hands-on experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI/CD.

• Practical experience developing, deploying, and supporting applications in AWS environments.

• Experience working with AWS services such as Amazon ECS, API Gateway, and DynamoDB is preferred.

• Familiarity with Thymeleaf for server-side web application development.

• Knowledge of Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools is desirable.

• Experience using IntelliJ IDEA in a professional software development environment.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar technologies.

• Experience troubleshooting cloud deployments, application logs, build pipelines, and environment-related issues.

• Understanding of secure coding practices, application security principles, and cloud security concepts.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently while delivering high-quality solutions in a collaborative environment.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
