Registered Nurse - Clinical Staffing Manager
$48 per hourProlink
This is a fully office-based role supporting a health system in the Eastern Standard Time zone. You will not be responsible for direct patient care, responding to codes, or interacting with patients or families. The focus is day-of staffing decision making — managing census reports, identifying over- and understaffed units, and coordinating staff float to ensure units are covered appropriately.
MUST HAVES
Active, unencumbered RN license (Ohio license or compact license preferred) Acute care hospital experience — ICU, ED, or inpatient med-surg only (SNF, LTAC, rehab, psych, and corrections do not qualify) Leadership experience within the past 1-2 years in a role such as House Supervisor, Unit Manager, or experienced Charge RN (5+ years) Experience at a Level I, II, or III trauma center within the past 5 years Demonstrated experience with staff allocation, census management, and covering unit gaps Tech savvy — proficiency with Microsoft systems required; UKG/Kronos and Epic experience highly preferredSHIFT AND SCHEDULE
Day Shift: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Night Shift: 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM Schedule options: 3x12s (36 hrs/wk) or 2x12s (24 hrs/wk) Blocked scheduling available Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday) Every other holiday, paid at time and a half Two Clinical Managers on shift at all times (2 AM / 2 PM)COMPENSATION
Day Shift: $44.00/hr Night Shift: $48.00/hr PTO: 120 hours per rolling 12-month period Benefits OfferedA DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE CLINICAL MANAGER
8:00 - 8:15 Internal team huddle — deviations and making assignments for the day 9:00 - 10:00 Review Epic reports — constant observation orders 10:00 - 11:00 Evaluate next 72 hours of staffing — post open shifts to ensure core numbers are met 11:00 - 12:00 Approve/deny shift swaps; review and action holiday and personal benefit day requests 12:00 - 1:00 Lunch 3:00 - 3:30 Internal team huddle — prepare for 4 PM site calls (CSO call, Zoom with site admin) 3:30 - 5:00 Block time to review and assign; approve/deny OT and extra shifts 4:00 - 4:30 CSO and site huddle to identify deviations from normal staffing 5:00 - 5:30 Finalize float decisions and assignment management 5:30 - 6:30 Clinical command center system-wide callSELLING POINTS
