Supervisor, Clinic Operations - South Bay Cancer Ctr

Overview Responsible for managing clinical and/or support staff in a designated area of practice, working closely with physicians and mid-level providers to ensure operations run smoothly, policies and procedures are adhered to, and an excellent patient experience is consistently delivered. Distinguishing characteristics: May be assigned to one or more areas such as the front office, back office, scheduling, or float pool. The incumbent coordinates, leads and directs the day-to-day activities of individuals or a group of individuals, including assigning, monitoring, reviewing progress and accuracy of work, and providing guidance on more complex issues. Holds authority for personnel actions typical of full supervisory status (e.g., hiring, performance reviews, disciplinary actions). Responsibilities Execute world‑class practices of service and patient care in support of C‑I‑CARE standards, using C‑I‑CARE templates and communication components such as CONNECT, INTRODUCE, COMMUNICATE, ASK permission, RESPOND, and EXIT courteously. Clinic administration: Manage daily operations, meet with staff to implement and enforce office/protocol procedures, and ensure compliance with policies. Schedule work assignments, manage workflow, approve timecards and PTO requests, and maintain adequate staffing. Personnel administration: Recruit, hire, and manage staff. Provide leadership, conduct performance reviews, coach staff, coordinate training and development, and consult with Clinic leadership and Human Resources for compensation adjustments. Equipment, facilities & supplies management: Ensure proper stocking and cleanliness of office, lab, equipment, and exam rooms, and support EMR usage. Patient flow & services: Assist with triage calls not intended for a specific provider, handle medical emergencies, manage and resolve patient complaints and concerns. Perform other duties as assigned, including department‑specific functions, organizational projects, and adherence to safety, HIPAA, and compliance policies. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience: Two (2) years of medical front and/or back office experience. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Direct and supervise staff, knowledge of medical practice and patient care, understanding of safety hazards, quality assurance maintenance, effective working relationships with medical staff and patients, crisis management, guideline interpretation, strong verbal and written communication, customer service, clerical and computer skills (Microsoft Office). Staff duties include registration, scheduling, practice management applications, clinic administrative functions, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, clinical equipment, vital signs, record maintenance, test result recording. Licenses and certifications: None required. Pay & Benefits Base pay: $43.77 – $56.90 per hour (variable based on experience, education, specialty, and training).
