This position is responsible for setting up and performing TIG/fusion welding operations in accordance with established process instructions and quality requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience working with thin-gauge sheet metal, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to produce precise, high-quality welds in a manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesPerform welder setups and TIG/fusion welding operations according to established process instructionsProperly use welding fixtures and related equipmentVerify completed products according to inspection method sheets and established quality requirementsPerform required sampling and inspection techniquesIdentify and remove foreign objects or contaminants from components and work areasWeld sheet metal with thicknesses down to 0.020 inchesApply basic fabrication techniques as requiredFollow established welding procedures, work instructions, and quality standardsMaintain accurate and consistent workmanship while meeting production requirementsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaWork effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departmentsDemonstrate initiative by remaining productive and continuing to develop welding skills and knowledgeSupport overall company production, quality, and operational objectivesFollow all company safety policies and proceduresMaintain reliable attendance and adhere to scheduled working hoursRequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent; relevant work experience may be consideredPrevious TIG/fusion welding experienceExperience setting up welding equipment and performing welds according to process instructionsAbility to work with welding fixtures and manufacturing equipmentExperience welding thin-gauge sheet metal, including material as thin as 0.020 inchesAbility to read and follow process instructions and inspection documentationBasic knowledge of fabrication processes and techniquesStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality workAbility to perform product verification and basic sampling/inspection proceduresAbility to identify and remove foreign objects or contaminants as requiredStrong mechanical aptitude and ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environmentAbility to work independently while also taking direction and collaborating with a teamAbility to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environmentReliable attendance and strong work ethicPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience in precision TIG weldingExperience working with thin-gauge sheet metalExperience in aerospace, defense, medical, or other precision manufacturing environmentsExperience working from detailed process instructions, drawings, or inspection documentationExperience with welding fixtures and specialized fabrication equipmentFamiliarity with quality inspection and sampling proceduresExperience with precision components and tight-tolerance manufacturing
