Job PurposeWorking within the global Core Technologies team, the VSO Support Engineer will provide assistance through expert knowledge for Spoolbase Fabrication. This includes but is not limited to welding, non-destructive evaluation & field joint coating. The support extends through all aspects of a product life – tendering, qualification, production and lessons learned. Job DescriptionLead by example in promoting Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standardsIdentify and drive Safety Improvement Focus Program (SIFP) initiativesServe as a technical expert, guiding and supporting team members in daily operationsInterpret client specifications and ensure alignment with fabrication activitiesDevelop and approve qualification plans for welding, NDE, and coating processesProvide hands-on troubleshooting during qualification and production phasesDrive innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies and processesCollaborate cross-functionally with global teams (Core Technology, GSP, and more) to ensure vendor complianceLead failure investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring timely and effective resolutionChampion standardization, simplification, and industrialization initiatives across the organizationYou are meant for this job if:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Material Science, Welding, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial)Minimum 2+ years of engineering experienceExperience or knowledge in:Welding processes (IWE/EWE/AWS certifications are a plus)Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) (certifications preferred)Field Joint Coating (FJC) systems (NACE/AMPP certifications are a plus)Ability to oversee and support qualification activities across welding, NDE, and coatingStrong capability to read, interpret, and develop technical procedures and documentationExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with global teamsProficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office, SAP, Teamcenter, etc.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentMotivated to:Be part of a global leader in energy technologyWork on innovative, high-impact projectsCollaborate with diverse, cross-functional teams worldwideGrow your career in a company that values safety, innovation, and continuous improvement
