The Norwalk Easter Public Library is looking for friendly, dependable, and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Substitute Circulation Assistants. If you enjoy working with people, staying organized, and being part of a welcoming community space, this is a great opportunity to make a difference while maintaining a flexible schedule.

As a Substitute Circulation Assistant, you'll provide outstanding customer service at the front desk, assist patrons with library materials and technology, help maintain an organized collection, and support the daily operations of the library. Every shift offers the opportunity to connect with patrons of all ages and help create a positive library experience.

This position is ideal for someone seeking part-time, flexible work. Substitute staff are scheduled to work one Saturday approximately every other month and help cover open shifts due to vacations, illnesses, and other staffing needs. Substitutes are required to work at least one shift each month, with the average substitute covering approximately five shifts—or about 20 hours—per month. Because coverage needs can arise unexpectedly, the ability to work on short notice is highly valued.

We're looking for someone dependable, adaptable, comfortable with technology, and who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to multitask and maintain a positive attitude in a busy public environment. Starting pay is $17.40 per hour.
