HVAC Service Technician IV

You’ll have the opportunity to work on all types of commercial and industrial equipment and cutting‑edge technologies. The equipment you’ll service includes, but is not limited to, large and small rooftop units, mini‑split systems, chillers, and boilers. Must be based in the Bowie, MD / Washington DC area. Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight for up to 10 HVAC technicians Ensure timely and cost‑effective start‑up of maintenance contracts, and efficient installation of jobs, providing maintenance according to contract requirements, and ensuring customer concerns/complaints are resolved in a timely manner Perform ongoing review of contracts/projects, implementing corrective actions to ensure costs are consistent with financial plans Negotiate subcontract agreements as required and serve as a primary contact Utilize the Service Management System and contract review process to establish an effective work plan which maximizes the capabilities of each team member and provide prompt customer service and ensure that requirements and commitments of each contract are met Perform and/or provide expert counsel on scheduled, preventive maintenance on any equipment/system under contract agreement by inspecting and checking equipment to ensure it is in satisfactory working order Respond to or assist other Service Technicians responding to emergency service calls to keep system downtime to a minimum Analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and restore equipment/systems to full operation and recommend revisions/replacements/upgrades when necessary for effectiveness or in cases of obsolescence Support Sales by assisting with job site surveys, reviewing estimates for accuracy, participating in sales promotion programs, and providing technical training and guidance Participate in the Estimate Review Process as required Contribute to accident and illness prevention by ensuring that safe work practices are implemented, and that the work environment is safe; provide safety training as required by OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures Provide timely, proactive feedback (positive or negative), in order to reinforce positive results or reduce potential call backs due to similar incidents Actively participate in performance evaluations of Service technicians, providing feedback on technical skills, attitude, thoroughness, teamwork and developmental suggestions for technician Keep current and provide training on all Daikin Applied products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service and repair Regular local travel requirements with some overnight travel Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Associate’s Degree or technical school HVAC certification (preferred) 7+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians EPA approved Universal Technician Certification (preferred) OSHA 10 certification (preferred) Current first aid / CPR card (preferred) Benefits Multiple medical insurance plan options plus dental and vision insurance 401K retirement plan with employer match Paid time off and company paid holidays Paid sick time in accordance with federal, state and local law Tuition Reimbursement after 6 months of continuous service Daikin Applied provides technicians with a logoed company vehicle, laptops, mobile devices, and other technologies Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position The typical hourly pay range for this position is $42.50–$60 in MD/DC, depending on skills, qualifications, experience and location #J-18808-Ljbffr Daikin Applied
