Accounting Associate

Primary Function We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a recent university graduate in finance who is working toward a CPA designation. The successful candidate will gain hands‑on experience in a professional accounting environment while supporting day‑to‑day accounting operations and developing core technical and professional skills aligned with CPA competencies. Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries under supervision Support monthly and quarterly close activities Assist with bank and account reconciliations Assist with inter-company invoicing and credit requests Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation Support preparation of financial reports and schedules Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects Provide general administrative support to the accounting team as needed Comply with GAAP and Company policies and procedures Work with key stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance CPA, or enrolled/pursuing a CPA designation Foundational knowledge of financial accounting principles Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and formulas are an asset) Experience with accounting software is an asset (SAP is preferred) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills that allow for interaction at all levels of the organization Additional Qualifications Prior experience with SAP is desired but not required Experience with consolidation accounting and financial reporting is preferred Education Bachelor's Degree in Finance We Offer Competitive compensation and benefits Supportive and collaborative work environment Structured onboarding and training Reimbursement of CPA fees and courses after successful completion Practical experience aligned with CPA competency areas Exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls Mentorship from CPA-designated professionals Development of technical accounting, Excel, and business communication skills Insight into career pathways toward CPA certification Salary Range: $55,000 - $68,000/year AODA Statement A.O.
