Job Opportunity: Urologist Recruitment

We are excited to announce a collaborative initiative between two leading health systems in Alabama aimed at enhancing patient care through the establishment of a Department of Urology/Urologic Oncology. This initiative is part of a comprehensive academic partnership agreement.

With over 110 years of experience, our organization is the largest integrated, not-for-profit healthcare system in Alabama and the Central Gulf Coast. Annually, we facilitate approximately 1.5 million patient visits and hold nearly 60% of the healthcare market share in the primary counties we serve. Our system includes four hospitals, a multi-specialty group with 230 physicians, and over 30 outpatient facilities, making us a prominent healthcare provider in the region.

Currently, our multi-specialty physician group does not include any Urologists. We aim to recruit 4-6 Urologists, guided by a newly appointed Chief of Urology. The recruited team will consist of General Urologists, Urologic Oncologists, and other subspecialties essential for our healthcare system. The recruitment process will be a joint effort between the UAB Department of Urology at the Heersink School of Medicine and our organization.

Position Details

This position is based in Mobile, AL, at Infirmary Cancer Care, an affiliate of the UAB O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center. The current program includes 6 Medical Oncologists, 3 Radiation Oncologists, 3 Complex General Surgical Oncologists, 2 Breast Surgeons, 2 Thoracic Surgeons, and 2 Colorectal Surgeons, providing care across two multi-disciplinary cancer centers and three additional clinic locations. This role is a full clinical position within the Department of Urology at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine, with employment through the University of Alabama Health System Foundation.

For eligible physicians, membership in the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB will be available, enhancing the role with access to cutting-edge research, clinical trials, and opportunities for Clinical/Translational Research. Competitive compensation will be offered based on MGMA benchmarks.
