Senior Facilities Manager

Hands-On Builder RoleThis is a hands-on builder role. One day you may be scoping utility requirements for a new manufacturing line; the next, you may be on the production floor working alongside riggers, electricians, and contractors to install and commission equipment.This is not a desk-based vendor management position, nor is it a traditional corporate facilities role. Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, EHS, and IT are your customers. Your responsibility is to understand what they need, translate those needs into infrastructure requirements, and drive projects from concept through successful operation.You'll own the process from: "We need this capability" to "It's installed, commissioned, documented, and running."What You'll DoCapital Projects & Equipment InstallationLead infrastructure and capital projects from start to finish, including:Scope development, budgeting, scheduling, design coordination, bidding, construction, commissioning, and turnoverElectrical distribution upgrades and power capacity expansionManufacturing equipment installations, including:Rigging coordination480V power connectionsProcess coolingCompressed air systemsExhaust systemsHVAC and mechanical system upgradesStructural and concrete modificationsLab and office build-outsYou'll manage general contractors, specialty trades, engineering consultants, and equipment vendors while coordinating shutdowns and utility tie-ins within active operating environments.Site Expansion & New Facility Bring-UpDrive facility expansions and new site launches from planning through occupancy, including:Programming and space planningPermitting and AHJ coordinationConstruction oversightCommissioning and move-in activitiesFacilities OperationsOwn day-to-day facilities operations across multiple sites, including:Electrical systemsHVAC and mechanical systemsPlumbing infrastructureBuilding controls and automationLife-safety systemsYou'll establish preventive maintenance programs, implement CMMS and asset management practices, manage service contracts and landlord relationships, oversee operating budgets, and drive permanent solutions to recurring issues.Infrastructure PlanningPartner with leadership to forecast infrastructure needs and support growth by:Assessing electrical, cooling, and space capacityIdentifying future bottlenecks before they impact the businessContributing to long-term capital planningBuilding the FunctionAs the company scales, you'll help define and grow the facilities organization, beginning with hiring and developing a Facilities Technician and ultimately helping build a high-performing team.Qualifications6-10+ years of experience in industrial facilities, capital projects, construction management, manufacturing engineering, or facilities engineeringProven track record delivering capital projects from concept through commissioning in technically complex environmentsStrong knowledge of electrical and mechanical building systemsAbility to read, interpret, and mark up electrical, mechanical, structural, and civil drawingsHands-on experience with:Manufacturing equipment installationRigging plansEquipment anchoringUtility connections and dropsOEM commissioning coordinationExperience obtaining permits and managing inspections with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)Experience managing contractors, consultants, and vendors, including contractor EHS complianceKnowledge of hot work permitting, LOTO coordination, and contractor controls in active facilitiesAbility to create structure and execute effectively in ambiguous environmentsStrong communication skills, with the ability to work across trades, engineers, operators, and executive leadershipBonus QualificationsBS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related fieldExperience in semiconductor, battery, energy, aerospace, data center, or other infrastructure-intensive manufacturing environmentsExperience with:Process cooling systemsCooling towersChillersCompressed air systemsBuilding Management Systems (BMS) and controlsExperience launching a new office, laboratory, or manufacturing facilityExperience building preventive maintenance and CMMS programs from scratchMulti-site facilities experienceSF Pay Range $200,000 —$240,000 USD Reno Pay Range $175,000 —$210,000 USDPlease note: This role requires working on-site 5 days a week.
