Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections – Corrections Services Rayburn Correctional Center, Angie, LA Compensation Special Entrance Rate: $19.88 per hour. Premium Pay: $2.00–$5.00 per hour based on years of service. Job Overview Provides individual and group therapy in compliance with established treatment plans, facilitates specialized groups, assists offenders in discharge plans, identifies resources, and develops psychological factors related to re‑entry. Interviews offenders to develop comprehensive bio‑psycho‑social assessments, identifies problems and needs, addresses adjustment difficulties, and identifies strengths and deficits. Maintains documentation in inmates’ medical records, charts, and reviews treatment, tracks progress for each case, makes referrals, and keeps statistics on offenders seen. Assesses offenders for self‑mutilation or suicide risk, issues management instructions, monitors progress and provides individual counseling. Key Responsibilities Provide individual counseling and therapy to offenders. Facilitate group and specialized therapeutic groups. Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop discharge plans. Document treatment, track progress, and generate statistical reports. Assess suicide risk and implement appropriate monitoring. Qualifications Current Louisiana license as LMSW, LCSW, or CSW. Master's degree in social work. Permanent status requires LMSW or LCSW licensure; CSW not accepted for permanent status. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license required. Experience in individual and group therapy, self‑help program coordination, crisis intervention. No Civil Service Test required. Verification of all credentials by official documentation. Salary Based on level of experience: Social Worker 1, 2, or 3; maximum salary for Social Worker 3 is $78,790 annually.
