Cloud Solutions Architect

Our client, a leading global law firm at the forefront of legal innovation, is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to design, implement, and optimize cloud-native solutions across Azure and AWS environments. This role will focus on cloud modernization initiatives, AI-driven technologies, infrastructure automation, and enterprise migration projects while partnering closely with stakeholders and technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in cloud architecture, DevOps methodologies, infrastructure-as-code tools, and hybrid cloud environments, along with expertise in security, networking, and enterprise cloud transformation. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically hands-on architect who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys driving innovation through cloud and AI technologies. This is a hybrid position in NYC.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop cloud adoption strategies and architect solutions across hybrid, public, and private cloud environments
• Lead cloud modernization initiatives utilizing the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework
• Translate business and technical requirements into cloud migration roadmaps while communicating business value and ROI
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure, networking, and security solutions aligned with Well-Architected Framework principles
• Support migrations of on-premises systems into cloud environments and assist in building scalable landing zones
• Utilize DevOps tools and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies, including Terraform, ARM templates, and Bicep, to automate deployments
• Ensure Azure environments align with security standards and compliance requirements including GDPR, ISO 27001, and ABA cybersecurity guidelines
• Provide strategic guidance on cloud technologies and long-term architecture planning
• Monitor cloud environments, evaluate performance metrics, and optimize systems for reliability, scalability, and cost management
• Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and DevOps teams to define technical requirements and promote cloud best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Several years of experience designing and implementing solutions within Microsoft Azure and AWS environments
• Several years of hands‑on experience supporting enterprise infrastructure or application migration initiatives
• Strong expertise in cloud networking, security, identity management, and data migration technologies including Azure Migrate
• Knowledge of single-cloud and multi-cloud architecture strategies and associated operational considerations
• Experience architecting solutions designed to meet RPO and RTO requirements within Azure
• Background managing cloud security posture, vulnerability remediation efforts, and perimeter security architecture
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises connectivity to Azure environments
• Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, IAM, compute, networking, and cloud storage solutions
• Understanding of VPN technologies, ExpressRoute, and hybrid cloud connectivity models
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and shifting business priorities

Skills & Abilities

• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models
• Knowledge of public, private, and hybrid cloud deployment strategies
• Comprehensive understanding of Azure and AWS cloud services including virtual machines, networking, and cloud identity services
• Experience developing and managing cloud-based applications and infrastructure
• Solid understanding of networking concepts including virtual networks, subnets, firewalls, and VPNs
• Knowledge of cloud security principles including identity and access management, encryption, and threat detection best practices

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Cloud Computing or related field, or equivalent professional experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification required
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification preferred
• Experience with networking, security, and scripting technologies
• Knowledge of containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
• Several years of practical experience in cloud architecture and enterprise solution design

Expected salary for this role is $140,000 - $180,000 commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
