Job Title Contracted Student Intern - Office Assistant for Service Authorization (260003NK) Overview The Department of Mental Health, Central Mass Area (CMA) Office in Worcester is seeking a highly organized individual to assist the Office Support Specialist in providing support to the Clinical Service Authorization Division. This student intern will gain understanding of the DMH system and knowledge of human service agencies/resources offered throughout the CMA. Responsibilities Assist with incoming calls, take messages, return calls to applicants, and community liaisons. Share the responsibility of monitoring the Service Auth email inbox by responding to emails, printing applications and documentation. Data entry and report extraction. Assist with researching and following up on incomplete applications and records received. Fax requests for medical records. File, organize and purge medical records. Draft letters for signature. Assist with the scanning applications and sending emails to designated staff at our five sites. General support for Clinical Service Authorization Specialists as needed. Qualifications Customer service focused individual with interest in mental health and human services. Understanding of HIPAA. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Bilingual or multilingual fluency is preferred given the population served. First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days. Additional qualifications may be required based on internal guidelines. Period of Service May 26, 2026 through September 4, 2026 Additional Information Benefits are unavailable with the exception of sick leave accruals. All employees will be paid on a biweekly basis and must have direct deposit. Salary: $19.00 per hour. Schedule 40 hours per week in office, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday with Saturday and Sunday off.
